GETTING TO OXFORD
Use the Transport Direct website to plan your journey to Oxford, see www.transportdirect.info
Unfortunately there are no train services into Oxford on race day arriving before 9.15am, which will be too late for competitors. We are working with First Great Western and Network Rail to see if additional train services can be provided for future years’ events
Coach services from London
The Oxford Bus Company runs a 24-hour bus service from London – Service X90
Stagecoach runs a similar service called the Oxford Tube.
Both services depart from Buckingham Palace Road and arrive at the Oxford Coach Station at Gloucester Green with a 100 mins journey time. These coaches have limited capacity and are likely to be fully booked. It is a short 2 mins walk from the coach station to the ‘City 5’ bus stop on Speedwell Street (or Oxford train station)
For Stagecoach Oxford Tube bus service details see www.oxfordtube.com/tubetimes.aspx
For Oxford Bus Company X90 service details see www.x90.oxfordbus.co.uk/timetables-fares
Travel from City Centre
Stagecoach and Oxford Bus Company operate the ‘City 5’ bus service from the city centre to our temporary Park & Ride bus stop on Knights Road. This service takes 25-30 minutes, and runs every 20-30 mins from the train station, with a more frequent service from nearby Speedwell Street
For City 5 bus timetable and route map see www.oxfordbus.co.uk/timetables-fares/city5#timetable
From Knights Road it is a 5 minute walk along a footpath into the back of the Kassam stadium – see venue map on our RACE DAY GUIDE
Please note that many local bus services will be effected by diversions or restrictions due to the event road closures – for service news and updates see www.oxfordbus.co.uk/news-service-updates
Taxis to the Kassam can be obtained from the taxi rank outside the train station, or other city centre ranks
TRAVEL BY CAR
PLEASE NOTE THAT OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL HAVE ADVISED MOTORISTS TO ALLOW MORE TIME FOR THEIR JOURNEY TO THE RACE DUE TO THE SOUTHERN BY PASS ROADWORKS
